First Day at Work and Orientation

Yesterday, was my first day working at the Sheraton Port Douglas. I have been assigned to be a Guest Services Attendant - Rooms. Currently, doing housekeeping in Villas. First Day, was crazy. We cleaned a total of 18 Villas, basically a "house" with 2 to 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Of course, living room and kitchen and etc need to be all cleaned.

The 2nd day (first offical day) was just orientation round the resort. Its considered training but its basically familiarisation. But since yesterday was so crazy and hectic, I kind of know everything already so, it was just follow and listen.

The hotel rates are really expensive over here and it super not worth while. The hotel rooms costs 700 to 800 AU dollars a night depending on views. The villas costs 1500 to 2500 AU Dollars a night. Villas are fantastic but the hotel rooms cant beat St Regis where I used to work and it hell lot of a more expensive.

Journey to Cairns, Port Douglas

After 6 months in Adelaide, it is time to depart and move to Port Douglas from my work experience at the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas. It is a 5 star resort and only one available in Cairns. Well, Cairns was not expected to be so rural but the natural surroundings are much more beautiful though similar to Malaysia.

Here is where I am staying and my nice cozy room. Well, not as good as the one in Adelaide but bigger and much cheaper.
