Sailing to Snapper Island

The last two days i went sailing to Snapper Island with my fellow colleagues on my Supervisor's yacht. Though, it was hot and sunny, the view was superb and all of us had really a great time and fulfilling experience.

Housekeeping Attachment

Well, i wonder if anyone actually reads my blog, but anyway if you do say something in my shoutbox so i know actually someone does read. Haha, anyway, I have not been updating so I don't exactly expect much. For those who are interested, I was doing housekeeping in the Villas for a month and after that till now a Rooms Houseman as my main job. Also, over the past few months, I have been working quite a lot of dual jobs, in Banquets mainly and sometimes a little in the Laundry. Why not earn some extra money instead of sleeping at home, eh?

Well thats me in Banquets uniform at some place in the hotel called Gilligan's Island. Tell me that the uniform is crap. Does that even look five star? Go Figure.

Thought I should add some photos of Me in Housekeeping too. Haha... Me working in the Villas. We are busy okay. Just so happen to have a minute to take the photo. =)

First Day at Work and Orientation

Yesterday, was my first day working at the Sheraton Port Douglas. I have been assigned to be a Guest Services Attendant - Rooms. Currently, doing housekeeping in Villas. First Day, was crazy. We cleaned a total of 18 Villas, basically a "house" with 2 to 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Of course, living room and kitchen and etc need to be all cleaned.

Picture shows: Me and Kang, sitting in the living room of a Villa
The 2nd day (first offical day) was just orientation round the resort. Its considered training but its basically familiarisation. But since yesterday was so crazy and hectic, I kind of know everything already so, it was just follow and listen.

The hotel rates are really expensive over here and it super not worth while. The hotel rooms costs 700 to 800 AU dollars a night depending on views. The villas costs 1500 to 2500 AU Dollars a night. Villas are fantastic but the hotel rooms cant beat St Regis where I used to work and it hell lot of a more expensive.

Journey to Cairns, Port Douglas

After 6 months in Adelaide, it is time to depart and move to Port Douglas from my work experience at the Sheraton Mirage Port Douglas. It is a 5 star resort and only one available in Cairns. Well, Cairns was not expected to be so rural but the natural surroundings are much more beautiful though similar to Malaysia.

Here is where I am staying and my nice cozy room. Well, not as good as the one in Adelaide but bigger and much cheaper.

Uluru, Ayers Rock

Well, after a long two semesters of 20 weeks, its time to head to the Red Centre (Northern Territory) to have some fun and see something different. Brian, Bryan and Me headed to Uluru, for three days. We totalled 3300 km and most of the journey was through the Great Victorian Desert and more desert.

Adelaide Cup

Yesterday, was a public holiday for Adelaide and the best part was - its was just for horseracing! Everyone took the time off to go to the racecourse ground just to watch the yearly cup and gamble, hahaa! Woke up early in the morning, thought of having some breakfast/lunch, and you know what, all the shops in rundle mall was closed. And its like the so called entertainment and shopping precinct in the whole of Adelaide. No choice, we took the tram and headed for the racecourse. Everyone there dressed super duper nice! CrAZY! super hot sun and you see people wearing like suits and ties and beautiful dresses. You wont even see that in a wedding dinner back in singapore under air condition. What more in the hot sun of 37 degrees!
